There have been many advocates of this on these boards. Folks, it's not that simple in this case. From what I'm hearing, a chapter 11 filing could easily turn into a chapter 7, and that wouldn't be good.

I can tell you from professional experience that the majority of cars made by GM are not worth buying. Here is the typical progression of repairs that you can expect on a GM vehicle. Bad as the economy is, things are being made worse with all the belly up bail out talk. Buying a car is a long tern investment. Noone knows when uncle sam will run dry. And there is the matter of those 100,000 mile warranties when GM goes belly up.
