Blurry ? Do you mean from camera shake or out of focus, or something else ? Is it possible you can post an example ? Would be good if it also had the Exif info. -- Rgds, Dave. Well I wouldn't call that a fair comparison, would you? Even so, the F3x's internal processing holds up pretty well. I wonder how it would compare if the F3x have controllable noise reduction settings just like the LX3. I bet if one can extract the raw files from the F3x this will all be a totally different story. ...

Amazing subjects and pictures Dave.... once again my compliments. I've tried every fs mode and must admit that Provia and Soft are my favourites. Especially when shooting in Soft mode, skin tones look marvellous and as far as colours are concerned... Soft gives a splendid starting point to adjust them to my liking. Hoewever, tweaking is hardly ever necessary. Grtz. Blanche

I've been itching to do the same and my choice (considering the current price of DSLRs offered) is exactly the same system (plus the F1.8 50mm EF II prime lens). Would you mind sharing where did you get the camera from and for how much? -- cheers, Mtemel

I can't believe nobody has responded in 13 hours ! These are very nice, high ISO, low light shots. A few look kind of soft, but could probably be sharpened up nicely with a little PP. Not the kind of shots I'm usually into.... But some of these made me quite hungry :-) Those F30/31's were certainly in a class by themselves. I still can't believe Fuji didn't keep them... or, a camera "...

You have a lens that is 1 to 2 stops faster at full tele (almost 2). You have IS. You also have the ability to shoot raw. On top of that the high ISO perforamance of the LX3 is competitive. The reason you are not seeing many LX3 concert shots is because the LX3 just came out, the F30/F31 have been out for years. Whoever thinks otherwise on this is only deluding themselves. Give some ...

... And a few other colours. Just putting together some web stuff and thought I would put these in here to give you an idea of straight out of camera colour. These are not PP'd, so if they have other 'warts', that's how it is. I think most are Provia shots, but the fishing boats were Velvia and with a CPL. any sign on the image of HOW it was taken. Which is a Very Good Thing for that kind of image. Congratulations. PS - do you know if that flash (the Nikon you used) would work with the Pentax K10D? I am just about to buy a flash and since I use the K10D AND the S100fs it would be wonderful if one flash would be usable with both. Thanks Bill -- Bill Wilson

Don, The relative merits of the LX3 and the F30/F31fd in low-light situations has been discussed over on the Panasonic forum. One important point which should be taken into account in comparing the two cameras is that the LX3 has a fast f2.0-2.8 lens. This means that in identical conditions the LX3 will shoot at lower ISOs than the F30. So a comparison of shots taken at the same ISO doesn't...

Kim, Though this is a fuji forum, the dof is why I love using my old Nikon CP4500 for macro shots of fly fishing flies in the vise! With a 1/1.8" 4x crop factor (compared with 35mm) or 3x crop factor (I guess, when compared with APS sensor) It provides incredible dof field on a subject that is is 3 dimensional and not flat. She will pop on soon I am sure... I believe for the most part the ISO is comparable with maybe a little less NR on the S100. So you can save a bit more detail.. but the real difference is the IS on the s100 allows for slower shutterspeed on non moving objects and really helps at the long end of the zoom for handheld shots... But I will leave it to Malinda to give your her hands on report...
