Lets get real people on this one. Do you remember Emmanuel from Illinois who served Bill Clinton? If you do, tell me this guy is a representation of what you wanted with change and uniting as the messiah preached it when this guy was the worst choice in doing that. Strident partisan is an understatement. This pick was mainly because he was Jewish and it is all about the stage. You may...

I've been watching Utah's Mormon reaction to Proposition 8 in California and it seems to me that while I understand churches do give their opinion on these issues, the active activism and focus is a little odd. I was born and raised in California and in fact only left a few years ago and it never occurred to me that any church or state other than the voting public would actually believe they can...

i agree with this column 100%. McCain should've never shunned Bush in his campaign. personal animosity or no, Bush deserved more respect from McCain. i don't give rats what his advisors told him, or he told his advisors, it was a bad political move. Quote: The Treatment of Bush Has Been a Disgrace NOVEMBER 5, 2008 Earlier this year, 12,...

To the LDS church, Last I checked, the LDS church has a distinct history of not wanting to be told how and who to marry(polygamy). For a church that professes love and family first, the church is wrong and ignorant to divisively impose their will on other families and suppress the underlying love. The world needs more love, not less. Especially in these trying economic times, the tens of ...

Some Republicans were not happy with the way that the Palin press conference was conducted, complaining that it seemed intended to bolster her status as the leader of the party and that she was hogging the media attention The GOP governors spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity. One called it awkward: Im sure you could see it on some of our faces. Another Republican governor ...

White House chief of staff-designate Rahm Emanuel took some time off from the transition Friday night to hurl barbs at his longtime pseudo-nemesis Stephen Colbert (as well as Joe Biden, Sarah Palin, Joe Lieberman, et al...) Colbert was roasted as part of a charity event for the Spina Bifida Association, organized every year by Judy Woodruff and Al Hunt. What appears to be cell phone video of ...

How will Republicans deal with defeat? Unless there is an act of God and all the polls are wrong, McCain and the Republican party will experience a crushing defeat on election day. Will Republicans have a serious conversation about why they lost, or will they go looking for someone to blame? What will the Republican party look like after the election? Will the GOP become less extreme?...

Madison County, Idaho was once dubbed "the reddest place in America" by Salon, but that didn't make it any less shocking when elementary school children started chanting "assassinate Obama on the school bus. Matthew Whoolery told KIKD News he found out about the chanting from his second and third graders, who had no idea what the word "assassinate" meant. "They just hadn't heard ...
