Hey. I've joined a tri club at uni and the coach has been sending out weekly swim schedules. Before I joined the club I just went to the pool twice a week and did lengths of front crawl until I got tired, so clearly I need more focus in my swim workouts. I understand the reasons why he has given me kick drills to do, and using paddles and pull buoys. But he has also added in a lot of lengths of ...

I gleaned a wee bit of info over the weekend: I reckon the councils and powers that be in Sherborne are happy for IMUK to continue there. Some moans from sections of the local community, but you always get that, and they're not carrying enough weight to matter i reckon. As stated at the briefings, most of the hard work with road closures is sorted, so the coppers are reasonably happy....

...my toe nails are too long! WTF!! This is the excuse my mate gave me as to why he can't make todays pre-arranged session at lunchtime. Has anybody else ever heard a more lame excuse than that? _________________ 'You're taller than I imagined' - P00key: The VIT 2007 My Pointless Blog

Having slowed down a bit due to concentrating on long distance I'm now back sub 6 minutes (just) for 400m. How long till I make my long term goal of sub 5 a reality? Was kinda thinking it would be a couple of years, if ever, but maybe I'm being soft. If not, what would be realistic? Any inspirational tales of drastic improvements from half-decent-anyway-for-a-triathlete swimmers? p.s....

Is anyone entered for, or planning to do either the north or south ones of these. Haven't done it before but it looks like a good laugh, how fit do you need to be to complete it, I'm probably not at Half Mara fitness at the moment! _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being c0cked. ~Amy Webster on cycling

Evenin all, Have got set up with a decent turbo trainer and am pedalling away safely in the garage!! Am just wondering if anyone can recommend anything to help measure cadence / speed etc? I have my speedo on the front, do people move them to rear wheel?! Also, have Forerunner 305 for heart rate, but this is my only measuring factor at the moment. Following on from this thread , a group of us are going to try to organise a regular Saturday group ride around Surrey. The focus is on people meeting, learning new routes and a bit of group training. No ego's, no dropping people, all abilities welcome. Plus anyone visiting the area can come out too! The idea is that we take it in turns to organise a route and publish it here. Then we ...
