I have a '97 Grand Am GT 2.4 5 speed. Does anyone know where I can find a clutch slave cylinder bleeder screw? I mean JUST the screw without having to buy a whole new slave cylinder. I have found generic bleeder screws on the internet but I don't know what size to get. The one on my car now is rounded off. I can still turn it with a needle nose vice grips, but I want to replace it. Any ideas??

Hi, the rubber cap that goes on the brake bleeder screw - dealer charges ~$5. That's $40 for both the cars! Any idea if there are any aftermarket ones available for less or is this one of those 'dealer only' parts ? '99 LX F23A1 @ 112k '01 MDX J35 @ 86k

About my '94GT, I looked through my books for it, but I think that's going to take too long as I have still not found it yet. What is the torque for that little bleeder bolt that gets tightened when bleeding the brakes? My front uses a different size wrench than the back. Is this normal?

This isn't GTO related... I replaced the brake hoses on my 98 Dakota, and wanted to flush the fluid as I've never done that to this truck. I'm looking at the bleeder screws on the rear drums, and they are covered in rust and I'm really scared to put a wrench on them. Can someone advise on how I can try to ensure I don't break them? This job has taken way longer than it should have, ...

(Car:1993 Nissan 240SX) After completing repair work that required that I open the clutch hydraulic line, while attempting to bleed it, the bleeder screw broke off. In turn, so did the screw exractor I was using to try to remove the bleeder screw. Thinking I could gravity bleed it, I disconnected the rubber hose from the slave cylinder, removed the slave cylinder and let it flow. It was ...

It's a bleeder, not a zerk. It helps if you crack it loose with a 6 point socket before you bleed it, that'll keep you from rounding it off. Righty tighty, lefty loosey. Use a hose from the bleeder to a jar with some brake fluid in it, that'll keep you from sucking air back into the system. Go rt rear, left rear, rt front & then left front. That's so you work your way from the farthest to the ...
